The book does a great job describing the cross country journey, but also adds in terrific history and trivia about each place. I strongly recommend this uplifting book. It’s a fun read with many interesting people he met along the way, personal revelations, and inspirational quotes. I bought copies for all of my biking buddies. I read it over four days and I feel like I just completed (at least vicariously) the trip of a lifetime. Mr. Fowler shares all the essential ingredients for a trip like this. I’m not inclined to do a cross country ride but I’m definitely inspired to do what I can at 69 years old. I’m also going to contribute to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
